Job Description
A non-union documentary promo short film is casting a lead actor for a mockumentary-style production filming in San Diego, California. Casting directors are seeking a Chinese or Malaysian man with a memorable look, strong comedic instincts, and exceptional improv skills. This unique project will be directed by a well-known filmmaker, with portions of the role requiring prosthetic makeup. Transportation from Los Angeles to San Diego will be provided for selected local talent.
Job Responsibilities
Portray the lead character, Adanson, in a documentary-style promotional short film.
Deliver a natural, energetic performance with strong comedic timing.
Participate in scenes requiring prosthetic makeup.
Collaborate with the director and production team throughout filming.
Perform in content intended for online and social media distribution.
Requirements
Chinese or Malaysian man, ages 60–85.
Must have Chinese or Malaysian heritage.
Strong character acting, comedy, and improv skills.
Memorable facial features and a dynamic on-camera presence.
Comfortable wearing prosthetics for part of the production.
English should sound like the character’s second language.
Available to film in San Diego.
Compensation
$1,200 for 12 hours.
