Job Summary: Standardized Patients (SPs) at Upstate Medical University's Syracuse Campus are individuals from the community who are paid to help train future healthcare providers. No medical background is needed. SPs support student learning by providing verbal and written feedback, completing computerized checklists, and participating in video-recorded sessions used only for educational purposes. Minimum Qualifications: • At least 17 years old and authorized to work in the U.S. • Live in the Syracuse, NY area and have reliable transportation • Able to read, write, and speak English clearly • Basic computer and email proficiency • Comfortable being examined, videotaped (educational use only), and giving feedback • Able to memorize and realistically portray assigned patient cases • Willing to accept coaching and remain in character during simulations • Maintain strict confidentiality
