Actor and Tour Guide for Halloween Glen

## Join the Halloween Glen Team as an Actor and Tour Guide

We are looking for a responsible and enthusiastic individual to bring the magic of Halloween Glen to life as an actor and tour guide. This seasonal, part-time position offers a starting hourly rate of **$18.00** and is perfect for someone who enjoys performing, working outdoors, and engaging with the community.

### What You'll Do

As an actor, you will memorize script lines on your own time, then bring them to life during one assigned dress rehearsal in September or early October. You'll wear a costume provided by Milwaukee Recreation while performing outdoors on either Friday or Saturday nights. If you are a tour guide, you’ll wear your own family-friendly costume and lead groups along the trails. Both roles require comfort with hiking on uneven terrain and working in limited lighting conditions.

You will report directly to the Recreation Supervisor of Outdoor Education and work with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude. This role also involves completing necessary paperwork and communicating effectively with participants and staff.

### What We're Looking For

We prefer candidates who have some prior acting experience or experience working with children and adults, but these are not mandatory — we’re happy to train the right person. The most important qualities are:

- Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures

- Comfort hiking on trails and uneven terrain

- Willingness to work varied hours and days (evenings and weekends)

- A positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills

- Reliability and the ability to work well with limited supervision

### The Work Environment

This position takes place at Hawthorn Glen, a beautiful outdoor setting. Expect to be on your feet, hiking trails, and performing in limited lighting. You’ll need to be comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, and acting in all weather conditions.

If you love Halloween, the outdoors, and putting on a show, this is the perfect gig for you. Apply today and become part of the Milwaukee Recreation team!
