Actor Trainer (Part-Time)

It is expected that an Actor Trainer will assist in overseeing the work of 10-15 actors.ResponsibilitiesReports to manager level in Training Department1. Trains and provides ongoing evaluation and development of actors (75%)• Provides individual coaching and continuing in-service training of actors through leading weekly meetings• Provides actors with materials and policy information.• Observes and evaluates actors.• Facilitates opportunities for actor improvement according to needs.• Assists the Manager of Training in training new actors prior to interpretation experience.• Ensures actors understand and effectively interpreter MTC meetings.• Leads in establishing updates or new MTC interpretation guidelines.• Fills in as an actor when needed.2. Leads in advocating for actor effectiveness (10%)• Evaluates missionary teaching appointment experience.• Leads actors in providing for the individual needs of missionaries. May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)QualificationsRequired:• 6 months experience as an MTC actor or teacher or 1 year experience with teaching, training, or tutoring in any capacity• Must be fluent in a non-native language (except for English or ESL area assignment).• Must have a solid understanding of MTC training principles, demonstrate problem-solving and organizational abilities, and have exceptional training competence.• Must communicate effectively• Demonstrates the ability to handle pressure well.
