In Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, his 1920’s-set play in the cycle, audiences are transported to a run-down Chicago recording studio during the summer of 1927, where the famous “Mother of the Blues,” Ma Rainey, is set to record her newest album. Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions. Actors only interested in auditioning for non-musical productions are asked to only perform a 60-90 second monologue and may perform a second monologue should time permit. An accompanist will be available for actors interested in auditioning with a song.
