About the ProjectSYNOPSIS: A continuation of New Generation Theatrical's interactive Gothic anthology, American Gothic takes place in the south in 1938. The Great Depression has hit everyone very hard, and this small town has been suffering hardship with drought, famine, and sickness. But in times of need, the town comes together for the Harvest Ritual, a special ceremony that ensures the crops will grow and the rains will come. That is what is taking place this night, as the town's Reverend gathers everyone to participate in the ritual. But when an outsider stumbles in from the dark night, he uncovers the truth of what it really means to be part of this community, and what salvation truly costs. In this spooky and comedic show, the audience becomes the community and must accept the responsibility of doing what it takes to survive. A story told in the vein of The Lottery, Midsommar, Children of the Corn, and other creepy tales of a person who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
