SEEKING:ELSA (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18+) Born with magical powers that she struggles to control, Elsa’s fear of hurting others pushes her to hide from the world and distance herself from the people she loves most. Underneath all of the fear is a strong, determined leader, waiting for just enough warmth to step out of hiding and take her rightful place on the throne. Vocally demanding role for a strong musical theatre actor with a high belt. ANNA (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18+) Spunky, joyful, and charming, Anna defies social decorum and rules in favor of spreading her optimism and light throughout the Kingdom. She loves easily, but feels the rejection of her only sister deeply. She might not have the magical powers that Elsa wields, but her inner strength and resolve are equally fierce. Vocally demanding role for a strong musical theatre actor with a high bright belt. KRISTOFF (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18+) His sarcastic exterior hides a man with a big heart and solid sense of right and wrong. Although he is a bit of a loner, Kristoff has developed a personal relationship with his reindeer, Sven, who has been known to intervene when Kristoff’s stubbornness gets in the way of his best interests. Kristoff was raised by the Hidden Folk, so he doesn’t always know the rules of polite society, and doesn’t really care to learn. Strong Actor with Bari-Tenor vocal abilities. HANS (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18+) As the ambitious 13th son of a king, Hans is always on the lookout for opportunities to make a name for himself. He is charming, handsome, and extremely good at reading people - all of which he uses to achieve his own personal goals. Strong Actor with Bari-Tenor vocal abilities. OLAF (Any gender, Any ethnicity, Timeless) Loyal snowman friend to Anna & Elsa, who loves summer… and warm hugs. They are joy, personified, and although they might not seem like the brightest toy in the toybox, they usually manage to be the most observant and insightful being in the room! Olaf has one big song in the tenor key, and must be an actor with incredible comedic instincts; Puppetry experience preferred. DUKE OF WESELTON (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30+) A Duke with a clear inferiority complex and the desire to climb the social ladder using whatever means are available to him. A comedic role for an actor with excellent comedic timing and no fear of making a fool of himself. OAKEN/ENSEMBLE (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30+) A good-natured salesperson, true Hygge believer, and head of a very large family! Sings the big Act Two opening number with joyful abandon! SVEN/ENSEMBLE (Any gender, Any ethnicity, 18+) Incredibly loyal reindeer to Kristoff, who has definitely adopted some of Kristoff’s brusque sarcasm. That loyalty includes protecting him from physical harm - but also stepping in when Kristoff is making a bad choice. Generally standoffish around new people, but if you make it into their inner circle, they’ll be your friend for life. Puppetry experience preferred. PABBIE/ENSEMBLE (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18+) The patriarch of the Hidden Folk. Wield magical powers and recognizes magic in others. Love Kristoff, and has a connection to the royal family of Arendelle, but chooses to live in a magical “in between” land outside the reach of humans. This role sings in a Baritone range. SEEKING:PATSY CLINE (Female-presenting, Caucasian, 20s-30s) Gifted vocalist with a rich, powerful alto/contralto belt with strong mix; must comfortably carry the score and embody Patsy’s warmth, wit, and quiet strength. Captures the essence and vocal style of the iconic country star without impersonation. Confident, charismatic, grounded, with emotional depth and ease in storytelling through song. LOUISE SEGER (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30+) Strong actor with excellent comedic timing and dramatic range. Big-hearted, brash, and charmingly direct; serves as narrator and emotional anchor of the piece. Must sustain high energy, connect easily with an audience, and create a deeply authentic portrayal of a devoted fan whose friendship changes both women’s lives. Strong Texan Accent. Initially shy, she opens up as the story progresses, and becomes an icon. Comfort with Spanish is a plus, moves well. Strong contemp pop mezzo with an effortless mix and belt. EMILIO ESTEFAN (Male-presenting, Latino/Hispanic, 20s-40s) Cuban/Latino. Baritone. Confident and handsome. Visionary producer who recognizes Gloria's extraordinary talent and helps build an international music empire. Comfort with Spanish is a plus. SEEKING:JEAN VALJEAN (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30s-50s) Sings to B, high lyrics baritone or tenor, with both strong low notes and a strong falsetto. A poor peasant who rises to affluence, he has great natural nobility and dignity. A powerful figure, with a character of operatic size and passion. The voice needs to have a pop/rock sound or a classical sound of extraordinary textual clarity. JAVERT (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30s-50s) Baritone, sings to G. Must have a natural gravitas with ability to be expressive and dynamic. Policemen who relentlessly hunts Valjean. An imposing character. The ultimate ‘law and order’ figure. Obsessed, to the point of irrationality, with rigid and merciless moral code. FANTINE (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 20s-30s) Belts up to C, sings to E flat. Poor but beautiful and elegant factory girl, struggling to support her fatherless daughter. Later is a pauper, a prostitute, a consumptive and a ghost. Earthy and poignant. Although she is finally defeated by circumstances, she should appear to be strong and a survivor. She puts up a valiant fight against the horrors of her life. EPONINE (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18-30) An enormous and beautiful belt voice, with a contemporary edge. Belts to C sharp, sings to E. Daughter of the Thénardiers but in no way behaves like them. Fired by an unrequited love for Marius. Gamine. Hasn’t learned to disguise her emotions; wears her heart on her sleeve. COSETTE (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18-30) Soprano to high C but a light, young ‘floating’ sound, without heavy vibrato. Fantine’s daughter (first seen as and played by a child) is delicate, elegant, vulnerable and beautiful. Falls in love with and later marries Marius MARIUS (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 18-30) High baritone, sings to A with a strong bottom A. Member of the revolutionary student movement. Attractive and romantic but in a sensitive, 19th century ‘Byronic’ way. ENJOLRAS (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 20s-30s) High baritone/tenor to G sharp/ B flat. Very strong singer. Handsome, charismatic political figure, leader of the revolutionary movement. THENARDIER (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30s-50s) Baritone, sings to F sharp. Strong comic character role. A crooked innkeeper, later a petty, amoral thief. Greedy, irrerent, selfish, boorish, vulgar. MADAME THENARDIER (Female-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30s-50s) Belter. Tough, sharp, coarse, boorish, vulgar. Strong character comedian role. THE BISHOP OF DIGNE (Male-presenting, Any ethnicity, 30+) Must have a strong, rich lower register to a bottom A. Although capable of playing great age, the actor playing the Bishop is cast in a variety of roles and needs flexibility to play a range of ages.
