PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please prepare a short country/pop/rock/folk song of your choosing and bring sheet music for the accompanist. Bring your book, headshot, and resume (stapled together). Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions.
ROLES AVAILABLE:
BARRET STONE (ON OFFER) - 30s. Sarcastic but winning. A legal aid attorney lost in her work; ignoring her loneliness. Once adventurous, Barret needs to find joy again. (Slight Southern accent, F3-E5 Mezzo Belter)
BOYD KERNS (ON OFFER) - 30s. Charming and equally sarcastic. Though he seems to be haunted by the ghost of his father and maybe a lost love. (Slight Southern accent, A3-A4 High Baritone)
CLARK JOHNSON - Early 20s. A "little brother" to Boyd who romanticizes everything. Clark is incredibly good looking. Nothing bad ever happens to Clark. (Bb3-A4 Tenor, optional higher riffs)
HUNTLEY STONE - Early 20s. Shallow and also incredibly good looking. Perfect for Clark, even though she's getting married to someone else. (Metro Southern accent, A3-F#5 Soprano Belter)
EDGAR CALHOUN (ON OFFER) - Elder patriarch and owner of The Songbird Lounge. Edgar is dogged about protecting his bar's "old school" aesthetic. (Thick Southern accent, High Baritone belts an A)
MANDY CALHOUN (CAST) - Early 20s. Edgar's daughter and The Songbird's waitress, bouncer, and lead singer of the house band, MESSINA. (Southern accent, G3-F#4 Alto Belter)
JOHNNY "JD" DOORNHAAG (CAST) - Sales Associate at Kia of Modesto and a wannabe "Vegas bottle service" guy. (A2-F#4 Bass/Baritone)
SUMMER FINLEY - Early 20s. Huntley's beautiful best friend and sorority sister. Summer is allergic to effort and inconvenience. (Metro Southern accent, G#3-B4 Mezzo)
BORACHIO GIBBS (CAST) - Early 20s. A top prospect in the NFL Draft, if he can keep his partying ways under control. (G#2-F#4 Bass/Baritone)
HANK - Comic relief regular at "The Songbird." (Thick Southern accent, F-A4 Tenor)
ROCKIN' RANDALL (CAST) - Comic relief regular at "The Songbird." (Thick Southern accent, B2-F#4 Baritone)
