THE CONTRACT
SYNOPSIS:
A married couple and co-pastors of a Black megachurch in Alabama have negotiated an arrangement to satisfy the husband’s sexual desire for men: they have hired a graduate student for monthly liaisons in an upscale New York City hotel. But when feelings intensify, the parameters of the contract are in danger of collapsing, along with the lies people have been telling themselves.

DARYL Early-to-mid-40s. African American. Pastor of a mega church in Birmingham, Alabama. Polished. Sophisticated. Ambitious. Charismatic. Very attractive for his age.DEBORAH Early-to-mid-40s. African American. Daryl’s wife and co-pastor. Well-coiffed. No nonsense. A strategic thinker. Classy, charming, sexy.PAUL Mid-20s-early 30s. African American. Graduate student at Columbia. Naive to the ways of the world, but a fast learner. Very attractive. He’s both masculine and sensitive—but not feminine.
