Audition Monitor (Part time)

About the position

Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional theater actors and stage managers in the United States, is hiring part-time Audition Monitors in its Los Angeles office. Actors’ Equity is a national union affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The Audition Monitors will be responsible individuals who lead a high-quality and organized audition experience. This is a part-time position. Auditions are primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Hours are based on the audition schedule and may vary from week to week. This position is located in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

Work with actors, casting personnel, and others to facilitate the smooth running of Equity auditionsEnsure that all rules governing audition procedures are followedEffectively organize and maintain audition materialsRepresent Equity at auditions and calmly and courteously enforce rules as necessaryMust be reliable and show up on time as scheduledRequirements

Excellent customer services and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to learn and retain complex rules governing auditionsExcellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skillsAbility to problem-solve and stay focused in a fast-paced environmentMust be comfortable speaking publiclyAble to remain composed and respond appropriately to varied personalitiesAble to travel reliably and punctually to offsite audition venues as assigned.Nice-to-haves

Knowledge and experience in theatre a plusStage management experience a plus
