As a Scare Actor, you will be part of the entertainment cast bringing the haunted attractions & immersive areas of Insomniac events to life. This role focuses on creating thrilling, immersive, and spooky experiences for guests through physical performance, improvisation, and character embodiment. Responsibilities: Maintain high energy, full character immersion, and consistent performance throughout the shift; scare and engage guests using physical movement, vocalizations, and props; remain in character at all times when visible to the public; improvise responses to guests’ actions while prioritizing safety and show quality; follow all safety protocols for personal, co-worker, and guest well-being; work closely with other performers, stage managers, and supervisors to deliver a cohesive atmosphere in houses and scare zones; endure long hours in full costume, masks or prosthetics, and makeup while maintaining energy and focus; attend all mandatory rehearsals, training sessions prior to and during the event as requested; adapt performance to suit varied venues including haunted houses, outdoor scare zones, and immersive photo locations; handle large crowds in a professional, controlled manner; interact courteously & professionally with headliners & staff at all times; take direction and feedback to enhance performance quality Qualifications: Participants do not need formal qualifications, but are most desirable with a background in haunt work, theater & or general entertainment Background in acting, theater, or haunt performance; strong presence, stamina, and crowd engagement skills; comfort with improvisation and interactive character work; ability to use body movement, posture, and vocalizations to portray characters and create responses; energy, enthusiasm, and people skills to interact effectively with Headliners; ability to perform in a variety of costumes, footwear, masks or SFX makeup for extended periods; comfortable working with special effects, including fog, flashing lights, loud noises, confined spaces, and occasionally heavy or restrictive costumes; flexible performance style to suit various characters and roles; willingness to accept direction and adapt performances as needed; willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel as needed; must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S
