Boston.com Staton Innovation Fellowship 2027

Boston Globe Media Boston, Massachusetts

**Job Description:**

[Boston.com](http://boston.com) and media researchers at Northeastern University’s School of Journalism and Media Innovation are partnering on a project aimed at engaging younger audiences on digital platforms. We are now seeking early-career video storytellers to apply for a one-year funded fellowship in 2027.

The fellow will work across the [Boston.com](http://boston.com) newsroom to cover local stories that align with our editorial mission: what Boston really cares about right now. Northeastern’s Reinventing Local TV News Project (RLTVN) began in 2017 and has since completed three successful research phases. In Phase II, the team added advanced animation and graphics to newscasts and found that these innovations increased audience interest and comprehension. Phase III tested the Digital Content Creator role in three newsrooms and revealed how prioritizing digital content can increase engagement.
