Sarah is a remote client of Maya’s, seen in a video session that showcases Maya’s work and sets up a major moral wound. She is an overworked corporate professional whose expensive apartment cannot hide the burnout, anxiety, and self-criticism in her eyes. In her scene, she starts guarded and uncomfortable, then slowly lets real vulnerability through as Maya reads her cards and speaks to her grandmother. Later, we learn that Sarah has hurt herself, and her mother blames Maya for it, a charge that hangs over the rest of the story. The actor needs a very natural, grounded style on camera, able to play subtle shifts in facial expression and voice as she goes from brittle humor to quiet tears and a tentative sense of hope.
