'Dumplings'

Casting "Dumplings," a short student film about an immigrant family in the US. Synopsis: One the eve of Lunar New Year, Hannah, a strict Chinese immigrant mother, anxiously prepares a traditional family dinner with her elderly mother while waiting for her absent teenage daughter, Christy, to come home. When Christy arrives late and refuses to help with the cooking, long-suppressed tensions erupt, where the conflict of tradition and modern teenage life. As arguments escalate over responsibility, identity, and independence, a misunderstanding involving Christy’s classmate Luke pushes Hannah’s patience to a breaking point. Just when emotions are about to hit the top, grandma’s accident brings them all to the kitchen table.
