Full-Time Lecturer - Acting and New Media

The Department of Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applicants for a Full-Time Lecturer (3-Year contract) with a concentration in Acting and New Media beginning August 10, 2026. The anticipated workload for this position is the equivalent of a 4-4 course work with the possibility of course releases for service to the department, college or university and/or for production responsibilities. • An MFA in Theatre Performance, Acting, or Directing (or) • A terminal degree in a Communications-related or New Media-adjacent area • Experience as a performer/actor/director/producer for the stage, camera, microphone, and/or other emergent New Media and content creation platforms • Demonstrate a potential to create and teach acting for the camera, commercial voiceover, and other new and emerging New Media-related classes: podcasting, streaming, film, and reel creation. Experience teaching or interacting with new media entrepreneurship • Experience in expanding artistic and academic practice to include global and historical traditions in curriculum design and pedagogy • Necessary Licenses/Certifications The candidate chosen for this position will be required to provide an official transcript of their highest earned degree and submit to a criminal background check.
