It offers a stable hourly income while leaving room for auditions, rehearsals, gigs, and creative work.Many successful team members come from performing arts programs such as NYU, Rutgers University, Montclair State University, The New School, AMDA College of the Performing Arts, and other arts-focused training programs.No experience is required - we’re looking for outgoing people who enjoy talking with others and building connections .If you enjoy performing, communicating ideas, and engaging with people , this role can be a great fit.What the Job InvolvesOur teams raise funds through face-to-face outreach with members of the public in high-traffic neighborhoods, community spaces, and outdoor areas throughout New Jersey.Team members typically meet at designated North Jersey meetup locations each day before traveling together to assigned field sites.Fundraisers speak with people about important nonprofit campaigns and invite them to become monthly supporters.Many people with performing arts backgrounds thrive in this role because it involves:Talking with new people throughout the dayConfident communication and storytellingWorking in energetic team environmentsActive work that involves being outdoors and on your feetThis is a face-to-face outreach role that involves speaking with members of the public throughout the day .$20/hour guaranteed starting pay (not commission)Regular pay reviews and performance-based raisesBonus opportunitiesPaid training from day oneBenefits eligibility after 3 months for full-time employeesPaid time offEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Work supporting major humanitarian, environmental, and social justice organizationsPublic Outreach strongly believes in promoting from within , and many members of our leadership team started their careers in the fundraising role.Availability RequirementTeam members are expected to commit to at least 3 full 7.5-hour shifts per week.
