Casting "Glass & Grain", a short film. Synopsis: Set against the city backdrop of San Francisco, the film follows Francis, a withdrawn street photographer who becomes transfixed by Madeleine, an emotionally volatile choreographer unraveling under the pressure of her own artistic ambition. What begins as a quiet artistic connection spirals into a blurred relationship between observer and subject, culminating in a crisis of guilt, grief and authorship. Shot entirely on 16mm from the short version of a feature script, "Glass & Grain" draws inspiration from the philosophical and reflective French New Wave cinema of Jean-Luc Godard and the existential yet intimate cinema of Ingmar Begman; a story on the ethics of art, creative hunger and the boundaries between reverence and exploitation.
