Gymnastics Camp Counselors/Assistant Director (will train)

In recruiting for our team, we welcome applicants that are from underrepresented groups in gymnastics, where that is due to gender, race, ability or anything else, as it is so important for our campers to see people like them having fun doing what they love-- and we're going to have a lot of fun this summer! We have a two day training which in addition to gymnastics skill coaching includes classroom management techniques, safety training, and creating a cohesive camp culture as a team, led by the camp director who has 20 years of teaching experience and a background in theatre movement (stage combat, stunts). Details: • Open positions: We are hiring 4 camp counselors ($18/hr) and 1 assistant director ($20/hr) which will work with the camp director as a cohesive programming team. If you are someone, like our camp director, who never had a chance to do gymnastics as a kid and longed to be a beginner gymnast as an adult, here is your chance! Daily schedule: • Greeting game and warm-ups • Block 1: Gymnastics skills rotation, pair-taught with gym staff • Block 2: Gymnastics skills rotation, pair-taught with gym staff • Weekly team teaches 1-2 minute dance routine, performed each Friday • Block 3: Advanced group does another gym rotation, other kids do Arts&Crafts;/Drama/Dance/Music-- counselors can run any activity they like!
