Understudy. Aunt Len is based on the real-life educator and founder of the Aunt Len Doll and Toy Museum in Harlem, which operated in the 80s and 90s. We watch her in the final moments of her life as well as key moments from her memory. The engine of this story, Aunt Len, interacts with all of the dolls and sets the tone for the play. She is magical and surreal, grounded and resilient.
