A widow living alone has built her life around an animal she loves and will not, under any circumstances, allow herself to fully see. Warm and composed on the surface, in deep denial underneath. The role lives in the gap between her performance of ease and what she refuses to know. We are looking for an actor whose power is in restraint and stillness, who can hold a deep contradiction without resolving it or signaling it, and who understands that the most important things here are the ones the character refuses to let surface.
