Based on the Gregor Samsa character from Kafka's novella "The Metamorphosis," Barry Schleckman is awkward, likely on "the spectrum," but also well-meaning and determined to improve himself. Requires a credible New York/Philadelphia accent and an endearing vulnerability. This show is largely sung-through, so strong singing is essential. Ideally, the actor should be 5'9" or shorter, but this is not essential.
