Wyatt is plagued by guilt over his bullying behavior in middle school, which manifests as anxiety and self-doubt in his present life. Despite his internal turmoil, he's genuinely attempting to become a better person. He has refined tastes in literature (Austen, James Baldwin) and art, and his apartment reflects a thoughtful, artistic sensibility with its collection of records, DVDs, books, and classical/pop music posters. Wyatt is socially awkward and fearful of rejection—he rehearses conversations in his head and experiences panic attacks when facing social situations. However, beneath his anxiety lies a capacity for courage; when he sees Remi at the library, he pushes past his fears to introduce himself.
