As the two talk and slowly approach the water, Mara recalls a traumatic moment from her past when several people walked into the sea and never returned. Through their conversation, it is revealed that the memory is not a tragedy but a forgotten origin: Mara once belonged to an underwater community descended from people who escaped slavery by creating a life beneath the ocean.
