Darnell is the series' structural spine and its most complex character. Eleven years at Cornerstone. Uses a legal pad like it's 1994. Deeply competent, deeply resistant to change, and — across six episodes — the most satisfying convert in the show. He is never the villain and never the fool. He is a man with legitimate concerns about systems that don't preserve context, and he is eventually, quietly, completely won over.

Measured. Formal. Precise. Believes deeply in process — just the wrong processes. Has genuine warmth buried under eleven years of institutional habit. When he finally commits to something, he commits completely
Comedy Style:
Absolute sincerity in absurd situations. The comedy comes from how seriously he takes everything. Never winks. Never acknowledges the joke. That IS the joke.
