George is waiting to die. He lives alone in a house that’s too big for him. He does not see people very often, and when he does, he’s cruel. The only pleasures he gets out of life are his memories. His relationship with his daughter is extremely strained, and the only hope that he has comes from his Catholic belief that once he dies, he can be with his deceased wife in heaven forever.
At the start of the story, his wish comes true. One random day, sitting on a park bench, George dies of a heart attack, probably caused by his excessive drinking. The short film takes place in the very last moments before he succumbs to the ailment, as he realizes that heaven is not where he’s going.
