A compact, high-voltage East Coast filmmaker coming off a public career flop, trying to outrun humiliation, fatherhood, bad press, and the fear that nobody needs his work anymore.
Looking for someone with young 1970s New Hollywood filmmaker energy: shorter stature required, fast-talking, obsessive, funny, restless, neurotic, intense, physically alive, and impossible to fully calm down.
East Coast rhythm/accent a plus. This is not a broad New York caricature and not an impression of anyone. The actor needs his own pulse.
Toby can be charming, exhausting, arrogant, generous, terrified, brilliant, and hilarious in the same minute.
