Will is Billy’s son. Intelligent, observant, and emotionally perceptive, Will grows up watching faith misapplied and love misunderstood. He begins the story open-hearted and curious, but gradually comes to believe that love in the church is conditional and transactional. As an adult, Will spirals into addiction and atheism, not out of rebellion, but disillusionment. His arc is one of misinterpretation, loss, and eventual revelation.
