He carries himself with the quiet confidence of someone who's trying to live straight after a troubled rough youth-- calm, rational and protective. underneath Mikey is complicated and morally slippery. he genuinely cares for Nick but he's also resentful and emotionally exhausted. he can be blunt and cutting in his honesty. ultimately he's a man whose love, resentment, fear, and survival instinct have all fused into something terrifyingly human.
