Works for the local police station and is tasked with interviewing a young teenager who witnesses a murder-suicide. Detective Tate is caring but also simply wants to fulfill their job of gaining information from the teenager, so they are almost robotic and emotionless despite the graveness of the teenager's story. Detective Tate is a representation of law enforcement's inaction when it comes to domestic abuse cases.
