The one who builds the machine. Aims a homemade time machine at 2045 to bring back a cure for his dying best friend, overshoots to 2100, and gets stranded. Carries the entire back half of the series through direct-to-camera monologue in a single fixed location, this role is dialogue-heavy, emotionally exposed, and largely solo on camera. We need range: easy chemistry and comedy in early episodes, then raw, unguarded grief (think one continuous take, no cutaways to hide behind). Strong self-tape technique a must.
