Jenna is the hostess with the mostest and absolutely no idea how she sounds. Elegant, enthusiastic, and armed with the specific confidence of a woman who has never had to question her place in any room, she welcomes Jody and Felicia with open arms — literally. She is tactile, warm, and deeply performative in her progressiveness without ever recognizing it as performance.
She and her husband Robert move in concert — a social unit so practiced it reads almost choreographed. Jenna adores him. She also, in her own oblivious way, adores Felicia — which makes her both the funniest and most uncomfortable presence in the film.
