Lifestyle MMJ/Host

The Lifestyle MMJ / Host is responsible for creating engaging lifestyle and community-focused content across television, digital, social, and streaming platforms. This position serves as a content creator for lifestyle and community coverage, producing compelling stories and segments both in-studio and in the field. In addition to reporting responsibilities, the role may provide occasional on-air hosting and contributor support for Daytime Buffalo and other lifestyle programming as needed.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, creative content creator, skilled interviewer, and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

* Produce, write, shoot, edit, and present lifestyle stories and feature segments for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
* Create content focused on community events, local businesses, entertainment, health, lifestyle, and human-interest stories.
* Write promotional and editorial content for Daytime Buffalo, including segment teases, sponsored content, and station initiatives.
* Create and publish web articles, feature stories, and other digital content on station platforms.
* Develop, record, edit, and publish social media content, including short-form videos, reels, stories, and live content.
* Conduct in-studio and on-location interviews with community leaders, business owners, nonprofit organizations, entertainers, and special guests.
* Provide occasional on-air hosting, guest interviews, and contributor support for Daytime Buffalo and other station-produced lifestyle programs.
* Participate in station-sponsored events, community appearances, and promotional activities to represent the station and build audience engagement.
* Collaborate closely with producers, sales, creative services, and newsroom staff on content and special projects.
* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
* Salary - $48,000 - $52,000 annually

* Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Television Production, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience as a multimedia journalist, content creator, reporter, host, or similar role preferred.
* Strong storytelling, writing, and interviewing skills.
* Strong on-camera presence and comfort appearing on television, digital, and social platforms.
* Ability to shoot and edit video using professional cameras and non-linear editing software.
* Experience creating content for websites and social media platforms.
* Familiarity with social media best practices, audience engagement strategies, and digital content trends.
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Must be flexible to work occasional evenings, weekends, and community events as needed.
* Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
