When a gambling-addicted author’s apartment is broken into by a desperate baker, she must balance her addiction with her growing attachment to found family. Mara’s Gamble is an NYU intermediate short film, exploring themes of found family and life dreams. Stylistically, it blends the whimsicalness of Wes Anderson with the dreamlike intimacy of Wong Kar-Wai.
