“Challenger” Limited Series Background Actors Job Description The limited series “Challenger,” inspired by the true story of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, is seeking background performers in Atlanta, Georgia. Set across the 1970s and 1980s, the production explores NASA, the Space Shuttle program, and the people and decisions surrounding the 1986 tragedy. A wide variety of talent is needed to help create an authentic period setting, with recurring opportunities available for select performers. Job Responsibilities • Work as a background performer in scenes set during the 1970s and 1980s • Help portray authentic characters and environments from the period • Follow direction from the production and assistant directing teams • Maintain continuity and professionalism throughout filming • Commit to consistent availability when selected for a recurring role Requirements • Open to a wide variety of background performers • Must be able to portray characters appropriate for a 1970s and 1980s setting • Must be comfortable working as part of a large television production • Recurring performers must maintain reliable availability throughout production • Must be able to work in Atlanta, Georgia Compensation • Background rate: $182/12 hours • Featured/director-selected rate: $196/12 hours
