Scare ActorYour next adventure starts here! This position involves extensive guest interaction and a guest-centric mindset to provide a thrilling and memorable experience for everyone who comes to enjoy the event.Scare Actors are responsible for entertaining and engaging guests, remaining in character at all times, and creating safe yet impactful scares as guests move through the park.A Scare Actor's Day-to-DayEntertain guests with a frighteningly fun performance by delivering realistic and scary interactions.Consistently remain in character throughout the entirety of scheduled shifts, including walking, running, making noises, changing posture, and using props.Effectively scare guests as they move through scare zones throughout the park.Greet and interact with all guests in the scariest manner possible.Demonstrate control, restraint, and awareness to minimize the escalation of situations in which a guest may get overly scared.Maintain a safe environment by keeping at least an arm's length between self and each guest, keeping escape routes clean, and following all safety standards.Use a variety of props, lights, and noise makers to enhance the scare experience.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Follow all park policies, procedures, and applicable labor laws.Proactively monitor assigned areas and quickly identify and escalate any safety hazards or other risks to proper authorities.Assist in other departments as needed.All other duties assigned by leadership.What It TakesMust successfully pass an audition and/or character training for this role.Must be at least 18 years of age.Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (including Halloween, if applicable).Ability to work 20+ hours per week when needed.Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.Must comply with all grooming standards, uniform, and/or costume requirements.Ability to immerse in a role and remain in character throughout the performance.Must be playful, outgoing, friendly, and convey a positive, guest-centric attitude.Must possess effective verbal and non-verbal acting and communication skills.Ability to follow direction, multitask, and work well with other associates in a fast-paced environment.Perks (More Reasons You'll Love Your Job)Free bowling & attractions (laser tag, billiards, mini golf, ropes courses, and rides) $1 arcade play All‑day play at Boomers, FECs & Waterparks Friends & family discounts Food & beverage discounts Special discounts on parties and group events Perks start on your first dayWork Environment / Physical DemandsTypical entertainment and amusement park environment where you'll stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders for long periods of time. You will wear assigned costumes for extended periods of time and perform in costumes that may have limited sight lines. You may carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 25 pounds or more. You will have frequent exposure to indoor and outdoor areas of the park, including variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions.
