Casting a short film. Two estranged brothers drive their mother's ashes to the Chesapeake Bay — but when the urn is stolen from their backseat, the hunt for it drags up everything they've never said to each other.

A Hispanic (Dominican) soldier returning home from a deployment to meet with his brother and travel to dump their mother's ashes into the bay. Rafael is a person who has developed the need to control things as a way to protect himself. His cracks show as he tries to maintain his relationship with his brother and eventually has to face all those feelings he's held inside. He is humorous, although he hides it underneath his tough shell. This character has a significant emotional evolution in this story and is a great role for an actor looking to dig deep and explore how bottled-up emotions show up in the face of losing a loved one.

***Alex - Lead.
Male. 25-37
Hispanic (Dominican) and the brother of Rafael, who is a soldier returning home from a deployment to meet him as they go to pour their mother's ashes into the bay. Alex, although the older brother, has always struggled to fulfill that role for his sibling. After many years, he still struggles to find self-acceptance and be the brother he knows he can be. He works incredibly hard to make sure their trip goes without a snag and continues to fight to fill the role he knows he should fill. This character has a significant emotional development as part of the climax and is a great role for an actor looking to explore these deep emotions and bring them to the forefront of the story.

Male. 21-29
This character is disinterested in his job and is only there because...that's just what life has given him. He's largely unimpressed by what happens around him.
