Ruth, the grandmother, was taken from her home as a child and raised in a residential school, leaving her disconnected from her culture and emotionally closed off. Now a mother herself, Lyn is determined to give her daughter, Ari, the sense of belonging she was denied. When Ari goes missing under Ruth’s care, the crisis forces buried wounds to the surface. Production states: "This story is very personal and powerful to me, as I take aspects from my own grandparents and loved ones. I thought it was important to showcase how trauma that our great-grandparents have gone through can still affect our children to this day.
