Scare Actor & Box Office Attendant

Nightmare Mansion is now hiring for the 2026 season.
We are the east coast's longest running walk through haunted house OPEN YEAR ROUND at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

We are hiring scare actors and box office attendants.
Often times we hire humans that can do both!
Basically you get paid to to yell and chase guests. :D

Ages 18+
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high energy environment that is physically demanding.
Must be LOUD. Can't be shy.
Must be witty and good at improvisation. AND MUST BE FUNNY.
Must have patience, no temper and great customer service skills.
Must work well in a team environment and take direction.
Must maintain a strict dress code.
Must be willing to clean daily and clean up after yourself.
Must be able to work in the dark (obviously)
Must be willing to work late (midnight to 2am) and on summer holidays.
Must be positive and open minded.
Must be able to work basic technology like, iPads, registers, desktops and smart phone.

Additional Box Office Info: Cash & credit card payments (Square), will clearly answer the public's questions and explain the experience without giving too much away. Will organize groups, get groups inside, under control and provide rules to everyone. Watch and maintain a safe environment using live cameras and communicating with the actors. Pace groups. Sell merchandise. Sell videos of guests going through.

EXPERIENCE IN HAUNTED HOUSES IS NOT NECESSARY.

Hours in the spring & fall vary. Mainly week nights & weekends only.
Hours in the summer (main season) are everyday (2pm - late)
Hours in the winter are limited to weekends only.

You will be asked to come in for an interview if we approve your application.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
