A Christmas Story Show Casting Equity Actors
Equity actors for roles in "A Christmas Story". Rate: Dinner Theatre $810 weekly minimum. Additional info: audition day lunch from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Audition day: bring picture and resume stapled together, Equity membership card, and optionally a short cut of a Broadway song in the style of the show (up-tempo or comedic) or a short story‑telling monologue for Jean Shepherd. 1st rehearsal: October 12, 2026. Runs: October 29 – December 20, 2026. EPA Procedures in effect, Equity Monitor provided. Jean Shepherd Male, 40–55 years, all ethnicities. (Narrator): Charismatic storyteller with a dynamic speaking voice, non‑singing.
The Old Man Male, 30–45 years, all ethnicities. High baritone or tenor to a high G. Good comic ability.
Mother Female, 28–40 years, all ethnicities. Mezzo‑soprano (Low G to high Db). Good comic ability. Warm but strong‑willed, straight‑forward, no nonsense.
Miss Shields Female, 25–40 years, all ethnicities. Alto belter. Ralphie’s elementary school teacher. Great with comedy, flexible voice comfortable singing both legit and contemporary Broadway, strong tapper.
Santa Male, 30–69 years, all ethnicities. Ill‑tempered, slightly inebriated, unhappy with job.
