Clay miniatures, silicone alien puppets, stop-motion, and VFX! A composer is forced to confront his own creative process by navigating a surrealist sci-fi odyssey. Strange Key follows Danny, a young virtuoso pianist who's engaged by a German experimental theater troupe to compose a symphony for their upcoming dance show. In the real world, our woefully awkward hero struggles to communicate with the troupe's director August, who grows dissatisfied with his hiree's unique musical stylings. However, each time Danny plays, he imagines himself commandeering a piano spaceship, transporting viewers to a galactic landscape made of silicone, clay, recycled materials, and other practical elements.
