Principal Johnson runs Northwood High with an iron fist, albeit, a bit cluelessly sometimes. A force of satire in the film, Johnson is consumed by power and greed, and he is trying to do everything in his power to make sure prom goes perfectly so that he is not removed as the principal by the board of trustees. He pushes conformity onto each of his students, including especially Paul, who he sees as a mentee.
