Performers will play multiple roles under the same character type, embodying the multiple truths of living in Appalachia, vulnerability, and quiet strength of rural Black life. All the actors play multiple parts. Each character is like their own kind of every (wo)man. In many cases, older characters can be thought to be more mature versions of younger characters. Anywhere there are Gossipers, these lines may be split among the ensemble.
