Kai is the young son of Miles and Amanda. He is smart, curious, playful, loving and has great admiration for his dad/his work. He appears playing in a sandbox at the playground in the opening scene and then again in his bedroom being tucked in by Miles before bed. Kai is loved and cherished greatly by his parents and is unaware of the conversations they are having and ultimately the decision that must be made.
