Antagonist: The "woman in rags" - a spiritual fortuneteller completely outcasted by her small town, blamed for various deaths and misfortunes because of her craft and mysterious nature. She speaks in a dark, sullen whisper, and despite her scary aspects is haunting beautiful. It is unclear throughout the film whether she is inhearently evil or simply misunderstood.
