Female, Black, 18, good-natured, supportive, kind of hot-headed, Dejah and her friend? Boyfriend? Ben are good friends of Mary Anne's and are also believers. Both Dejah and Ben come to Mary Anne's aid when she's taunted by a former classmate (though Deja's way more hot headed than Ben). It only takes a moment for Ben and Dejah to get on board when they learn that Mary Anne (as in, Mary), though a virgin, is miraculously pregnant with the next Jesus, and they drag her to a drugstore to get a pregnancy test to prove it.
