Clement is a homeless, African-American (written as a Jamaican-born immigrant) who, in Ben's darkest moment, has become a close friend. He's extremely eccentric, certainly over the top, and seemingly lost in a pool of addiction and homelessness, often speaking in a thick Jamaican Patois, usually in a carefree and unknowable manner. However, this is simply a facade as Clement holds immense wisdom, compassion and emotional intelligence. Simply put, Clement is Ben's "Merlin", or guiding figure trying to lead him to a better place both literally and emotionally. The role will allow the actor to perform something incredibly eccentric with a meaningful core, initially appearing as comic relief but in reality is far more.
