A sharp, composed documentary host in the style of a serious BBC arts/culture interviewer. They sit across from Old George, a beloved but evasive former sitcom star, and politely press him with increasingly pointed questions about his legacy, failed marriage, and responsibility for the collapse of Smile, George! The role is all about restraint: the Interviewer never “attacks” openly, but uses calm precision, careful listening, and quietly loaded questions to expose the cracks in George’s public image. Looking for an actor with strong diction, intelligence, subtle reaction work, and the ability to make professional politeness feel tense, probing, and slightly dangerous. This role is for the present-day interview portion of the film and will involve seated, documentary-style dialogue opposite the actor playing Old George.
