Ben's deeply religious mother. She's extremely protective of her son and has convinced herself that only she knows what is best for him. Her concern for Ben is completely genuine, however, this has manifested in a extremely unhealthy manner, though Claire does not see it herself. She loves Ben unconditionally, but struggles to see how her deep care for her son has manifested in control, manipulation and guilt. This role will allow the actress to perform a character that is able to balance genuine warmth with heartbreak, intensity, and walk the fine line of being realistically antagonistic but coming from a genuine place.
