One of the main character's only friends for most of life, even though she was verbally and physically abusive in his childhood. She raised him through high school and promptly abandoned him when he turned eighteen. She not-so-secretly resents her son, believing he stole her best years and making her life a living hell by being mentally disabled. Though she is only featured in a couple scenes, they are some of the most important moments in the film as they completely re-contextualize how we view the main character and his psychology.
