MELENA, Female, 30–45. Romani (preferred) or ethnically ambiguous. A mysterious merchant whose quiet confidence and guarded warmth make her difficult to read. Wise, perceptive, and accustomed to surviving on her own terms, Melena forms an unexpected connection with Atanacio that leaves both him and the audience questioning her true intentions. Seeking an actor with strong dramatic instincts who can balance compassion, independence, and subtle emotional ambiguity through understated performance.
